Mr. and Mrs. Rivers

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” A wedding is more than just a day full of music, pretty dresses, flowers, and dancing, it’s the beginning of two lives as one. It is the most important day for a lot of people and with that comes a lot of planning. As Harper and Brad were planning their wedding, the first things they discussed was the time of year they wanted to get married. Having both grown up near a lake, they spent most of their summer days outside, so they decided June 4th would be a good day since they wanted the wedding to be outdoors. After the date was set, the next on the list was finding a venue that would meet their love of nature and rustic look. After weeks of searching, they found a hidden gem, Rustix Manor, which they quickly fell in love with and booked! Harper wanted to include Brad as much as she could with the planning, since it was a day for both of them. He insisted on having a live band, incorporating the color blue, and a dance floor that he could bust a move on.

Harper has always had a love for lace and flowers. Growing up, her mother had a flower garden full of garden roses, hydrangeas, peonies, and sunflowers. She loved picking out flowers to use as a centerpiece when guests came over for dinner, so naturally she wanted flowers everywhere! After four wedding boutiques, Harper found her dress at David’s Bridal-a white, laced back, A-line with buttons up the back: it was perfect! She also found her bridesmaids dresses at David’s Bridal, long, slate blue strapless. Brad found a light tan suit from Men’s Warehouse that he and his groomsmen will rent. The save-the-dates went out and were a slate blue and white, watercolor announcement. The invitations had blue and peach flowers to incorporate the wedding theme. Flowers, flowers, and more flowers! From the time the guests arrive at the venue, they will be greeted by a floral welcome sign and will be given fan programs to keep cool during the ceremony. There will be a guest globe set up for guests to sign, along with a window frame of old pictures of the couple for the guests to look at. All of the tables will have flower centerpieces and the guests will find their table by choosing their name from the numbered potted plants.

Dinner will include cheeses, fruits, finger sandwiches, salad, and for dessert, cake of course! While the bridal party is taking pictures before the reception, the guests can enjoy a game of corn-hole out in the yard near the fire pit that will have a fire going by then. The night will continue on as the dance floor becomes crowded and the music plays over all of the venue. There will be dancing, toasts, pictures, a bouquet toss and a garter throw. The couple will enjoy visiting with their friends and out of town family. Just before the newlyweds head off to their hotel for the night, the sparklers will be lit, making their grand exit light up! As the guests leave they will receive a little planted succulent as a thank you from the bride and groom. A few months after the wedding, all of the guests who brought gifts will receive a handmade thank you card from Mr. and Mrs. Rivers thanking them for celebrating with them on their big day. Mr. and Mrs. Rivers will return from their honeymoon in Hawaii and live in downtown Woodstock, Georgia.
