When I initially asked Erica Commins to be the day-of coordinator for our wedding, I honestly just had in mind that she would show up on the morning of the wedding, I would hand her a stack of papers, and she would just make sure that everyone was where they needed to be. I never imagined the amount of her voluntary involvement throughout our wedding process. As soon as I asked for her help, which was about... 6 months out, she put together a binder with checklists of everything that we needed to get done. We had phone conferences, constant text reminders, and an embarrassing (on my part) amount of Google docs and printed docs. Being in law school while planning the wedding, things had a tendency to slip my mind, but Erica was always right there, proactively reminding me of what needed to get done. When it came to the week of the wedding, I would not have made it through without Erica. My now husband and I planned a destination wedding, which included our entire wedding party staying in the same house for three days. Erica arrived late the first night, and as soon as she got there she sat down and had a meeting with me. The next day, our rehearsal day, we had another meeting. It’s amazing how much information a bride collects, but can forget to share with those helping her. Erica gave me enough of her time and patience to make sure that I got it all out before the wedding day. I told Erica that there were two things I wanted on my wedding day: 1. I did not want to be seen by any guests before the ceremony started; and 2. The only wedding related issue I wanted to know of on the day of was if my groom did not show. She promised and she delivered. Not only did she keep me hidden, but up until our ceremony started, I knew of nothing regarding planning. For a control freak like myself, it was hard to entrust someone else to make sure everything got set up accordingly, but I’m glad that I entrusted Erica to do this. After having spent so much time meeting with her beforehand, I had complete faith in her ability, and it allowed me (and my mother!) to relax and get ready in peace. It was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I even had a few small, unplanned requests at the reception, and Erica was quick, efficient, and happy to help. Erica was not only a tremendous help throughout our wedding planning period and on the day of our wedding, but she was extremely positive through it all and very happy to help. Every time I saw her she had her clipboard in hand and a smile on her face. Hiring her was one of the best decisions we made and it made our day that much more enjoyable!
